What is DUSU?
DUSU (Delhi University Students’ Union) is the UNION of students of Delhi University. It is a means by which students can air their grievances, make contributions on affairs that affect them and also exercise their rights in marking various events that improves their standard of living.

The student union represents students from various colleges affiliated with the University of Delhi, Some of the prominent colleges are St. Stephen’s College ,Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Hindu College, Miranda House, Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, Ramjas College etc.
Eligibility criteria for joining the DUSU
The DUSU has set some basic eligibility criteria For joining the DUSU, elections are conducted after the elections candidate can take part in the student union but before getting registered for the DUSU elections Some eligibility criteria 's are there :
- Enrollment: The first and foremost condition is that candidature should be confined to the registered students of the University of Delhi only

DUSU candidates, once elected, have several roles and responsibilities, including the first role of the candidate is to be the face of the union and to Represent the student community in the university matters the as the student union is formed for solving the problems and issues of the students, so the candidate participating in the union should know how to handle all the issues raised by student the student union also works for the coordination and management of functions, seminars, and practicals conducted for the students. The student union also Work’s with college management for enhancement of infrastructures and services. Last but not the least the main responsibility of the student union is to do justice with the students and to ensure fair decision
Positions under DUSU
DUSU has several key positions, which are given below:
- President: The president of the union who being in charge of overall leadership of the union and acts as the union’s spokesperson.
- Vice President: Aids the President and steps into the office when the President is unavailable or on a leave.
- General Secretary: Oversees the management activities as well as communication pertaining to the union.
- Joint Secretary: Assists the General Secretary and often facilitates action.
- Counselor: Assists students on issues concerning management of their lives as well as on course related matters.
