CAT 2024
CAT exam also known as Common Admission Test is a national level exam Conducted by IIMs for admission into post graduate programs like PGP, PhD, fpm but specifically it is for MBA program, candidates often prepare for CAT to get into the top B schools of India ,even working professionals also prepare for CAT exam to pursue MBA executive. The eligibility criteria for this exam is that the candidate must have a bachelor's degree with 45 to 50% of marks depending upon the category of the candidate. Third year bachelor’s degree students are eligible to sit for the exam ,it is a computer based exam , mostly the questions are MCQ based and it is divided into 3 section first section is of (VARC) , second section is of (DILR) and the last section consists of Quants or (QA ).The duration of exam is 2 hours, 40 minutes is allotted to each section.

REQUIREMENTS OF CAT EXAM : EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. For SC, ST, and PWD candidates, the requirement is 45%.Certain points to remember about eligibility.- Final year students of Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification can also apply. If selected, they must provide a certificate from the Principal/Registrar stating they have completed all degree requirements on the date of issue.
- Age Limit - There is no age limit for the CAT exam.
RESERVATION -
- OBC (Other Backward Classes): 27% of the seats are reserved for OBC candidates.
- SC (Scheduled Caste): 15% of the seats are reserved for SC candidates.
- ST (Scheduled Tribe): 7.5% of the seats are reserved for ST candidates.EWS (Economically Weaker Section): 10% of the seats are reserved for EWS candidates.
PWD (Persons with Disability): 5% of the seats are reserved for PwD candidates.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED
- Scanned photograph: Recent passport-size colour photograph.
- Scanned signature: Signature in black or blue ink on white paper.
- Photo ID: A government-issued ID card like Aadhaar card, PAN card, Voter ID, or Passport.
- Academic documents: Class 10 marksheet, Class 12 marksheet, Graduation marksheet, Other (if applicable)
- Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS),
- PWD certificate (Persons with Disability) and Scribe affidavit (if required).
Any document must be downloaded from the official website, filled, attested, and uploaded as a PDF.
Application Fees -
- General, EWS and NC-OBC candidates: Rs 2,400.
- SC/ST/PWD candidates: Rs 1,200

What after CAT results :
After the cat 2024 results are out, IIM's will start giving calls to students for Personal Interview round. The calls given by IIM's are merit based and differ for candidates from different streams. After the Personal Interview rounds IIM's release their results selecting candidates for the current academic sessions and their flagship programs. For applying to IIM's one does not need to fill separate forms instead they can tick the respective IIM's they want to apply while filling the CAT form.
