SSC GD, also known as staff selection commission, general duty is an all India level exam conducted by staff selection commission for the post's / requirements like. Constable GD for border security force, constable GD in central industrial security force, central reserve police force etc. The minimum age criteria required for this exam is that a candidate should be at least 18 years of age and the maximum age should be 23 years, physical health/body criteria is also set, accordingly results are declared. As for the qualification's candidate have passed class 10th with a government recognised board.

The physical standards set for the eligibility of exam is 170 cm of height for males & 157 cm height for females. Relaxations are applicable for St/Sc/OBC or other minorities candidates

It is conducted in a CBT mode and it consists of four sections. Like general knowledge, general intelligence, mathematics, logical reasoning, language English/Hindi. Total number of questions are 80 MCQs based questions. Duration of the exam is 60 minutes as the duration of exam has been reduced from 90 minutes to 60 minutes and negative marking is also there, 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answers.

Stages of SSC GD selection :

The selection process of SSC (staff selection commission) GD (general duty) has few stages which are as follows:

1. Computer Based examination (CBT) :

where candidates appear for an online test. It has questions of reasoning, GK, Mathematics, English/ Hindi.

2. Physical efficiency test (PET):

Now after clearing the CBT test students have to pass this test which involves tasks like running. The passing criteria is different for SC, ST, OBC.

3. Physical standard test (PST):

4. Medical Examination:

• The scores of the candidate in part of a computer based exam is considered. The candidate with higher marks is recruited. 
•  If the issue is still not resolved the score of part B of computer based exam is considered. The candidate with higher marks is taken into consideration 
• If the issue still persist, the age of the candidate is taken into account, the older Candidate gets to go for further examination.
