The GPSC exam known as Gujarat Public Service Commission exam is an state level examination,
This exam is conducted by the “Gujarat Public Service Commission” For selecting the suitable candidates for various civil services positions in Gujarat itself . These posts are administrative roles, police service, and other government posts. GPSC was established in 1960.It is one of the oldest public service Commission examination in the country which is designed to recruit candidates for various administrative positions within the Gujarat state.
Eligibility of GPSC examination
- A citizen of India
- A subject of Nepal
- A subject of Bhutan
- A refugee from Tibet, who should have migrated to India for permanent settlement before 1st January 1962.
- A person of Indian origin should have migrated to India for permanent settlement from Pakistan, East Pakistan (Bangladesh), Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, Vietnam.
Educational qualification and requirements
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree from any reputed/UGC approved university which is incorporated by an act of the parliament or state legislature in India or other educational institution established by an act of parliament or declare to be deemed as a university under section 3 of the university grants commission act 1956.
The age criteria for GPSC exam should be minimum 21 years and maximum is 35 years
Exam pattern/structure
The GPSC exam consists of three stages :
- Preliminary exam : It is the first stage of GPSC exam that is called the preliminary exam and also called the screening test. This is the test for the candidates which examine their general knowledge and aptitude. Also this exam ensures comprehensive evaluation of the candidates’ overall aptitude is conducted. However, It is typically a multiple-choice question (MCQ) based exam.
- Main exam : It is the second stage of GPSC exam that is called main exam. and after clearing the preliminary exam you can able to give main exam. The main exam is a more comprehensive and in-depth assessment. Besides, this exam includes both objective as well as subjective type questions.
- Interview : So this is the last stage of GPSC exam that is called the interview round. After clearing the preliminary exam and mains exam, the candidates can appear for the interview round. The interview round assesses your communication skills, leadership skills, and overall suitability for the position.
Certain Guidelines about the exam :
- For negative marking ⅓ marking will deducted for wrong answers in Preliminary examination .
- In mains exam there is no such provision or claims for negative marking .
- Candidates needs to get 33% in each exam for the qualification of next round.
- After these three stages a comprehensive evaluation will be done based on merit and the overall performance of the candidate. This approach guarantees a fair and competitive selection process and ensures that the best individuals are selected for the key positions.
Registration for the GPSC exam 2024:
- To register for the GPSC exam firstly visit the official portal of GPSC GPSC official portal link
- Then Click on the Apply Online section on the homepage .
- As the candidate is a new user, they need to register by providing all the basic details like name, address, gender etc
- Then Fill up the form by providing all the required details.
- Upload scanned passport size photograph, signature and other necessary documents .
- Pay the application fee online ,the application fees of the form is Rs 100
- Review the application and submit it .
- Do take the Printout of the application form for the future reference .
Important Documents Required for GPSC Exam
- A recent passport sized photograph is required.
- Scanned copy of signature is required during registration time.
- Mark sheets of educational qualifications are required 10th ,12th and bachelor's degree marksheet.
- A valid ID proof (like Aadhar card, PAN card, or passport etc).
- Category Certificate if applicable for SC/ST/OBC/EWS categories.
GPSC exam 2024 important dates
Registration dates for the GPSC 2024 exam is expected to being from the month of October 2024.
Preliminary exam is scheduled on December 8, 2024.As for the admit card Candidates can expect the admit cards to be released in the last week of November 2024 .To download the admit card candidates
need to visit the official GPSC website and enter their registration number and date of birth .

- Don't wear clothes with multiple pockets as it will consume much time for checking
